How To Get Rid Of Apps

There’s an App for just about everything these days, but what do you do with those pesky Apps that you no longer need?

When we download the newest, latest, must-have App, it joins all the other Apps we’ve downloaded and our homescreens start to get a bit crowded.

So how do we fix this?

First, do an App Audit!

Take a good hard look at those old Apps. Are they still useful or are they just clogging up space on your device (phone, ipad or tablet)?

If you haven’t used them in ages, are you likely to need them anytime soon?

If the answer is no, then you can safely delete them. And if you find you need them in the future, you can easily download them again (well, most of them….).

So how do I delete an App?

Well, that depends on the device you are using.

On an Apple iPhone (or iPad),

  • find the App you want to delete
  • hold your finger on the App icon (the picture of the App on the homescreen) until the App icon starts to wiggle
  • a dialogue box will appear that says “Remove App Share App Edit Home Screen”

Select ‘Remove App’ in the dialogue box

Or…

Continue to hold your finger on the App until a ‘Minus’ sign appears in the top left corner.

Tap the Minus sign and another dialogue box will appear.

Select ‘Delete App’ from the dialogue box.

Warning! Warning! Warning!

While the Apps are wobbling, make sure you only select an App that you want to delete.

Most Apps can be downloaded again, but I recently accidentally deleted one I downloaed in the US and now I can’t get it back again – and I NEED it!!!
