What’s All The Hype About Pinterest?

How many Social Media platforms does the world need? We’ve got Facebook; Twitter; Tik-Tok; Instagram; WeChat; LinkedIn; and possibly hundreds more, world wide.

So, what’s with Pinterest?

Unlike Facebook where we get behind the scenes of everyone’s life, Pinterest is more about sharing ideas, inspiration and ‘Pins’.

Pins can either be pinned from any website that has a link to Pinterest, or you can pin your own content.

What is Pinterest?

”Pinterest is a visual discovery engine for finding ideas like recipes, home and style inspiration, and more.

With billions of Pins on Pinterest, you’ll always find ideas to spark inspiration. When you discover Pins you love, save them to boards to keep your ideas organized and easy to find.”

Do I need a Pinterest Account?

Not really, but you can do a whole lot more, with one.

Without an account you can browse ideas, but you can’t save them to your own board on Pinterest.

How do I get a Board and what is it?

Do you remember when you were a kid and you pinned pictures on a cork board in your bedroom?

A Pinterest Board is just like that old cork board, except it’s a Virtual Board; instead of pinning real pictures, you’ll be pinning pictures and pages from websites.

You can organise your boards into different categories to keep things organised (or at least pretend to, in my case).

Signing up for a Pinterest account is quick, easy and it’s f-r-e-e.

And there’s an App for that as well. Just look for the Pinterest App in your App Store.

Pinterest is a great way to find inspiration to kick-start your next project.

Enjoy, and Happy Pinning!
